A commercial strategy in which a company proposes the sale of a certain number of units of a product. When that number is reached, the company commits to not offering any more of that same product. This practice comes from the art world, where graphic works are numbered and limited. In the luxury world, it is a strategy that is increasingly used to ensure a certain degree of exclusivity and to reconcile volume and prestige.
